Hump Day Lunch: Nuli
Today, I decided to order lunch from Nuli, hoping for a delicious and satisfying meal. I chose the tandoori chicken wrap and the beefed-up stir-fry bowl, which was supposed to come with a choice of couscous or pasta. However, the app didn't give me the option, so I ended up with couscous. I also ordered a green zest juice but received a mint bliss instead.
In this video, I'll be sharing my honest thoughts on the food and my overall experience. Unfortunately, the tandoori chicken wrap was extremely dry, making it difficult to chew and enjoy. The chicken itself lacked moisture, and there was very little sauce in the wrap. Moreover, the flavor was quite bland, and it desperately needed more salt to enhance the taste.
Moving on to the couscous, I encountered the same issue - it was dry and lacking in flavor. Despite hints of jollof seasoning, the dryness made it challenging to focus on any distinct tastes. The minced beef that accompanied the couscous seemed to be seasoned with only curry, adding to the overall dryness of the dish. The sweet corn provided a slight relief, but it wasn't enough to salvage the meal.
The only saving grace was the mint bliss juice, which wasn't what I ordered but still tasted good. It proved to be a much-needed respite from the dryness of the wrap and couscous.
It's important to note that healthy food doesn't have to be unenjoyable. Nuli could have improved the dishes by ensuring the chicken and couscous were moist and well-seasoned. Additionally, I believe it's time for Nigerians to reconsider the notion that couscous is inherently healthy, as it's essentially a type of pasta.
Overall, my lunch experience from Nuli was disappointing, and I hope they can work on improving the moisture and flavor of their dishes. If you've had a similar experience or have any recommendations for tasty and healthy lunch options, let me know in the comments below!
