Hump Day Lunch: Wingsville
I recently had the pleasure of trying out Wingsville, a restaurant that specializes in chicken wings. I decided to order a variety of flavors, including creamy garlic, spicy barbecue, and hot hot, along with a side of corn on the cob and a chicken pasta.
In this video, I'll be sharing my honest opinion on each dish, starting with the corn on the cob. I was impressed by the freshness and quality of the produce, which resulted in a perfectly cooked, juicy, and lightly seasoned corn that truly put the "sweet" in sweet corn.
Moving on to the main event, the chicken wings, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they were cooked. Wingsville managed to achieve juicy, succulent wings without any risk of undercooked meat. The creamy garlic wings had a subtle but satisfying garlic flavor, while the spicy barbecue and hot hot wings provided a mild kick. I appreciated that the sauces weren't overpowering, allowing the quality of the chicken to shine through and making for a less messy eating experience.
Unfortunately, the chicken pasta was a letdown. The pasta was overcooked, resulting in a mushy texture that was immediately noticeable. The flavor was lacking, reminiscent of a bland jollof spaghetti. Although the chicken in the pasta was well-seasoned, the dish's overall appeal was severely diminished by the poor texture.
Despite the pasta mishap, I've chosen to focus on the positive aspects of my Wingsville experience. The wings and corn on the cob were truly enjoyable, earning Wingsville a solid 8 out of 10 in my book. I'll definitely be returning for more of their delicious wings, but I'll be steering clear of the pasta.
If you've tried Wingsville or have any favorite wing spots, let me know in the comments below! I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations.
